Persepolated

Finally saw Persepolis. I suspect it will be a long time before 2008 offers up a film that knocks it out of the top spot for next year's Stave It Off awards. If I had included it in the 2007 list, it would have easily made the top three.

I've never seen a better comic-to-film translation. The art direction, including the various enhancements of the author's style, are brilliant. It may be the most gorgeous animated film I've ever seen.

Can't get the trees out of my mind. From what I can tell so far, the website plays what seems to be the whole soundtrack, or a good portion of it. 'Tis some of it fine.

Sorry Ned... your comment makes less sense now that Diane had me remove her comment. While Diane is clearly a cunning linguist, her farsi post did not format correctly and she would prefer that I remove it, rather than have it stand in error.

Ah well, my comments rarely make sense anyway, even in context. ;-> Funny, it looked fine on my (read W's) computer. Well, it was pretty. Can't speak to what it may have actually said.
